Why we built this

We built Crossword Puzzle Solver to be the tool you reach for after you've genuinely tried a clue — a way to confirm a word you're unsure of, or to break through when a section of the grid has you stumped — rather than a way to skip solving altogether.

What powers the tools

All three tools search a dictionary of more than 370,000 English words directly in your browser. Results are ranked so that common, everyday words surface first, since crossword grids are built overwhelmingly from recognizable vocabulary rather than obscure entries.

Our approach

We keep the tools focused and fast: no accounts, no paywalls, and no unnecessary steps between typing a pattern and seeing results. The site is supported by advertising, which keeps every tool free to use.
